Forever striving to remain at the forefront of the chat community the synergy Technical Adminstrators are ready to upgrade the board software to VBulletin 3.5
during the upgrade process the board will not be available for a couple of days

This will be a major upgrade and a vast improvement over VB3.07 which we are currently running and will mean that some of the modifications we currently have installed on the board will no longer work, such as the arcade...

now I know the arcade is our bread a butter and always has been, but there is a new a version of the arcade currently under developement for VB3.5 which will take between 2 - 4 weeks before it becomes available...
Now before you all run off screaming "THE END IS NIGH" we have already planned for any downtime of the board and any temporary loss of our arcade with a cool idea...
after a verbal meeting between myself and Snowy today, it has been decided to allow Synergy members to use my own personal board which is also a chat forum with an arcade (and one or two other features which I wont go into here :rolleyes)
the board is located here www.jellynuts.com (http://www.jellynuts.com/bb/frm/wbblite/portal.php) when you get there you will be setup with a special account in a usergroup called "synergy" once the work on synergy is complete and when the new arcade is eventually setup this usergroup will be closed, if you wish to stay on at jellynuts after this you will need to PM me.

Synergy is the flagship board and the main site on which all the Admins and staff have worked so hard over the last couple of years and it is this very reason that we are wanting to upgrade to the latest version of the best forum software available but we are waiting on YOUR decision!! yes we are asking our members if they want us to go ahead with this mammoth undertaking or not as synergy was created for you!

please vote yay or nay in the poll as soon as you can so we know where to go from here... remember the board WILL go down for a short time and we WILL lose the arcade for a few weeks BUT we have the backup plan I have mentioned already in place!!

also jellynuts was a closed forum until it was decided to allow synergy members to join...
registrations on jellynuts will be closing again at Midnight (GMT+1) on Saturday 20th Aug as I dont want to screw the bandwidth!

Just make the board downtime coincide with my days off work.

FYI - just went to jellynuts, not really sure where/how to get signed up as synergy member. The site is ok, but I just don't feel the same warm fuzzy feeling I get from synergy

we need to upgrade this software in order to stay on top of the chat board scene!!!
my offer to Snowy to allow synergy members to join jellynuts is so you all can still keep the community together while synergy go's thru its natural improvement process!!

jellynuts is part of the synergy empire as I am a co founder of BOTH of these boards!
you dont have to join it if you dont want to! I dont want jellynuts getting blasted with spam and shit!! we are just trying to make things easier for the synergy members!!!

I say go for it. I also can go without the arcade, but it was a good idea to post your other site there sabre, cuz we do have some arcade junkies on this site, no offence guys/gals, but its true. So the fact that the admin are concerned about all aspects of this upgrade is I guess one of the real points of this site, everyone matters.
